Ben and I spent many long hours (while 9 months pregnant also!) building a beautiful loft bed for Lilah since she was being evicted from the crib for the new baby. Ben and I convinced ourselves this was a great idea and that she would love her new bed. After it was finally built, Lilah tried it out. She jumped so much she hit one of the sides giving herself a black eye during nap time. Next up, bedtime. Bedtime went well. Other than attempting to get my hugely pregnant body up and down the ladder for book reading, it went great! New bed was a hit! We should have known that the silence shortly after leaving her room was not a good sign. Usually we hear talking and playing for 1+hours after we leave her room at bedtime. Lilah had found the spare parts kit we stupidly left on the windowsill and was having a wee of a time "accesorizing" her new bed. This included a wood marker intended to touch up scratches on the wood. Lilah used this to decorate her body, her face, her new Frozen sheets and about everything else in her bed. Elsa now has a mustache. The next morning (which was Father's Day and a day I had to work all day), Lilah was VERY proud of her artwork and showed it off. I had to leave for work, bless Ben's heart for cleaning up this little nugget and poor Elsa.
